Surreal. That might be a good word for it. It seemed like that whole morning I was being carried along, hovering about 6 inches off the ground, not really understanding the magnitude of what was actually going on. Three months worth of work, an amazing team, and a very gracious God made it seem like everything was running on autopilot. It honestly could not have gone better.
The response from the community was overwhelming. We had more people than we thought and there was this sense of joy in the room. To say I’m thankful doesn’t even come close.
So many people worked so hard to make this day happen. I’m very grateful for them and humbled by them. I know full well they didn’t work for me per se, they were working for the Kingdom and that is just awesome.
What happens after this, I’m not sure – but I do know that it is all under the hand of a gracious, loving, kind, and good God who has given us His Son, Jesus to reconcile us, heal us, and give us hope. It is that hope in the gospel that I (and all of us) are so excited to bring to the community!
