It sounds so corporate and boring – “Informational Meeting.” Leaves a bad taste in your mouth like burnt coffee. OK, perhaps not quite that bad. An Informational Meeting is where we can do a bunch of non-corporate, non-burnt coffee things. Like…
- Cast the Vision. What is the vision of the Highlands Bible Church? Why does GPBC feel we need to launch a new campus in the Vernon area? What is our mission and how might we go about accomplishing it? Is it going to be exactly like GPBC? What is going to be required of the team?
- Form the Team. This is also a time where you can officially throw your hat in the ring and sign a commitment card that you feel lead to be a part of the Launch Team and make the Highlands Campus your church home. Exciting stuff. Perhaps a bit scary, but a historic step nonetheless. We will also learn about next steps for the team – how we will begin to move towards Launch Day.
- Ask Questions. Hopefully you have been praying about this. Ask questions to get whatever info you need to help you pray with more direction. Or maybe you just need a clarification or two in order to feel good about jumping in the deep end of the pool. There are no silly questions and the Info Meeting is the perfect time to ask them all.
- Learn How to Stay Connected. Towards the Summer, things will start to move very quickly, get yourself set up now to stay in the loop. Find out when the Launch Team is meeting in the Vernon area. (OK, I’ll just tell you, the 2nd and 4th Fridays). Sign up for the blog, follow us on Twitter, see who is on the Launch Team, talk to them…see if there is a connection and a calling.
Yes, the term “meeting” may be corporate, but don’t let that scare you off. If you are even remotely thinking that God may be calling you to Highlands, please attend. The next meeting will be at GPBC in Room 10, this Sunday, April 12th at 10am. We hope to see you there!
PS: There will be additional meetings – stay tuned to this blog or talk to Pastor Mike to find out when and where.
